A fireplace is an open recess in a wall at the base of a chimney where a fire can be built, generally to keep us warm especially during winter or gives warmth to aid survival through an extended winter at places with colder climates. Others, on the other hand, use this arched space for decorative purposes.

 

Undoubtedly fireplace has become very popular and regarded as one of the must-have facilities that at home as people gather around a fireplace for conversation and family bonding especially during working days.

There are different types of fireplaces available on market such as Electric Fireplaces, Wood Burning Fireplaces and others, to name but a few, that allow every house owners to choose their very own fireplace that suit their house design to the ground.

 

Gas Fireplaces
Centuries ago, peoples tend to use wood burning or charcoal burning fireplaces. As time flies, more and more reinventing have been done, gas fireplaces replaced the using of  wood burning or charcoal burning fireplaces  as gas fireplaces is cleaner and safer comparing to wood burning fireplaces. Besides saving the cost of buying woods, less effort is required to maintain the cleanliness around fireplace. Adding to the above, gas fireplaces create an instant fire.

Electric Fireplaces
Electric fireplaces, on the other hand are more suitable for those living in apartments without a chimney or for those with a lower budget. As electric fireplaces are cheaper and convenient comparing to gas fireplaces, electric fireplaces received quite a bit of attention. It is easy to install as all you have to do is choose the place you want it set up, plug it in and enjoy the instant flames to warm you up!

Stone Fireplaces
A stone fireplace is usually made of limestone, granite, rock, stone, or marble. The type stone you choose will affect the price and the colors of your fireplace. And, best of all a stone fireplace never go out of style. Even though it is cheaper, it surely looks fantastic.

Vent-Free Fireplaces
Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) or better known as Vent-Free Fireplaces produces more heat and need no chimney to work it. In addition, the heat produced will stay around the home and the cost of running a vent-free fireplace is low. Designed logs designed specifically for vent-free fireplace can be found in market too!
